This technote assumes that Windows was installed in the default

c:\vision.
1-Exit Windows entirely.
2-Make a directory for ObjectVision. At the C:\ prompt type
md c:\vision
3-Change into the ObjectVision Directory. Type
cd c:\vision
4-At the c:\vision prompt type
copy a:*.* (or copy b:*.* depending on the floppy drive
you are installing from)
5-When all 32 files have been copied to C:\vision, type
ren ovmaster.exe vision.exe
Note: You may delete the following files from C:\vision :
erase Install.exe
erase OVfiles.lst
6-Start Windows
Make the following changes in the \windows\win.ini. This
can be done using the Windows Notepad or Sysedit utility
or any TEXT editor. You may wish to first make a backup
copy of win.ini since it is a critical file for Windows
operation.
7-At the end of win.ini press return to place the cursor on a new
line and add the following:
[ObjectVision]
Name=yourname (place your lastname in for
Company=companyname yourname and your Company
name, if applicable, after
"Company=").
HomeDir=C:\Vision (unless ObjectVision was installed in a
different directory)
For Example:
[ObjectVision]
Name=John Doe
Company=Acme Widgets

HomeDir=c:\vision\
8-In the [Extensions] section of the Win.ini add the following
line:
ovd=c:\vision\vision.exe ^.ovd
This will enable you to start ObjectVision by clicking on
ObjectVision application files or icons, because these files
(*.OVD) will now be "associated" with the ObjectVision executable
(vision.exe). More information is available about extensions in
the \windows\winini.txt file.
9-Save your Win.Ini file.
10-Next,create an ObjectVision Group, or put your ObjectVision
icon into an already existing group.
To create a new group, called ObjectVision:
From the Program Manager select File|New and choose Program
Group. The Description is the name of the group window, ie
ObjectVision. The group file is up to 8 letters such as OBJECTVI
(Windows will add the .GRP) name extension.
To install an ObjectVision icon into this group, from the Program
Manager select File|New and choose Program File and select
Program Item. Use the browser to find c:\vision and then double
click on vision.exe. (If you wish to create an icon for the
Paradox Engine Configuration icon you can come back to this point
and select pxengcfg.exe.) The Description will be whatever you
wish to "name" the icon. If you press OK, it will be named
ObjectVision, by default
11-We strongly suggest you read the readme files included with
ObjectVision and Windows!!!!
